Fidgets and Incentives For Keeping Students Engaged

Help me give my students prizes and fidgets for the classroom. Middle school students struggle with keeping their attention focused on learning, and having a variety of fidget toys will accommodate students with different needs.

My Project

COVID-19 has had a long lasting impact on the social and emotional development of students and after having to learn through remote learning for so long, students struggle with their attention and focus in the classroom. I have noticed more students with anxiety and attention issues that have been helped with the use of fidget toys.

The students at BECS are a community of leaders and I have the privilege of teaching our 8th graders.

Many of our students have been attending BECS have attended since they were in Kindergarten and have the opportunity to be role models for their peers. It is my goal to do whatever I can to support my students and ensure that they can be successful and ready for moving onto high school.

In the building of my classroom culture I celebrate students for their accomplishments and behavior. Fidgets and stickers to decorate their belongings have been ways I have seen students express themselves as well as stay focused in class. Students with learning differences and difficulties often feel more comfortable with different fidget options.
