it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students struggle with anxiety combined sensory and social emotional regulation. Often, these struggles inhibit them from participating to their fullest potential in their classrooms.
Our Occupational Therapy sessions focus on providing the students with a "toolbox" of strategies, games and toys that can assist them with regulating their behavior.
The experience with these group games, theraputty, toys and fidgets in therapy sessions can provide my students with skills to carry over to the classroom and other environments that will allow them to pay more attention in class, increasing their ability to access their academics as well as providing the skills and confidence to interact effectively with their peers.
