My Students

Set in a rural farming community, my classroom is full of inquisitive first graders who come from different socioeconomic statuses. In our classroom community, students bring different points of view of the world. They also bring diverse ways of learning.

Engaging and curious, my students deserve the best possible learning environment that will allow them to explore the world around them.

My students love to learn in a space that makes them proud and makes them feel comfortable and safe.

My Project

Traditional chairs found in the classroom are restrictive and typically don't allow a student to safely move. The seats I am requesting for my students will be used in our classroom as a seating option for those who need to fidget while sitting. At this time, the wobble chairs I am requesting will be placed at our classroom's guided reading table. This will ensure my students are engaged by having their bodies "ready" to read; feet on the floor, body facing the table, and a safe outlet for students to move their feet and body while focusing on the task in front of them.
