My Project

I am a school counselor in the East Stroudsburg Area School District. I am working on this project in order to get more figets toys and tools to help support my students. I am currently working with the 6th graders this year but will follow my students to 7th grade next year then 8th the following. I have a caseload of over 300 students and with mental health being at an all time high, many of my students benefit from using fidget toys while being in my office.

Some of my students IEP's and 504 plans have "Allow student to utilize a fidget toys and the Little Spot of feelings books in the classroom setting." written into their plans and I have given some of my fidget toys away to students for this purpose.

My goal is to have more figets accessible to studnets while counseling them in the office and for when students need a fidget to bring to class.

My students are very exceptional to me. Some students I see on a regular basis and others I see once in a while. Regardless, all of my students have needs, some more than others and I want to be able to help them as much as possible.
