My Project
Our classroom is a place of learning and growth, where every student deserves the best opportunity to succeed. For many of our DAEP students—who face unique challenges and are considered at-risk of not graduating—creating an environment that supports their diverse needs is crucial. Many of these students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and have already faced significant obstacles. Providing them with sensory and fidget toys has proven to be a powerful tool in helping them engage and perform better in their studies.
Sensory and fidget toys play a key role in our classroom by offering students a way to manage their stress and maintain focus.
These tools help them channel their energy constructively and create a more comfortable learning environment. For students who benefit from tactile stimulation or need to keep their hands busy to stay focused, these toys are invaluable. The silent nature of most fidget items ensures that they do not disrupt others, creating a more inclusive and effective classroom experience for everyone.
Our goal with this project is to update and replace our worn-out fidget toys, ensuring that every student has access to the tools they need to thrive. Our previous project's success demonstrated the significant impact these toys have had on our students' learning and well-being. As these items have become well-loved and extensively used, we now need to refresh our supply to continue supporting their needs effectively.
What makes our students truly special is their resilience and determination. Despite the challenges they face, they show remarkable dedication to their education. By equipping them with new sensory and fidget toys, we aim to further support their focus and comfort, helping them stay engaged and motivated.
