Help me give my students the alternatives they need in order to help them be most successful in the classroom. These items vary in use and purpose; however, their necessity is of utmost importance to their individual needs.

My Students

Varying Exceptionalities is an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My classroom is designed to reach students with Individualized Education Plans in all grades, K-5, working towards grade level standards in a self-contained small group setting. Currently, our classroom dynamic is designed as a small group of students, including: 1-Kindergartener, 1-1st Grader, 2-2nd Graders, 2-3rd Graders, 5-4th Graders, and 3-5th Graders. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some are learning to develop comprehensions skills, paragraph writing, and math strategies.

We work in small groups based on grade levels in a center based rotation so that all students access their specific standards in specialized small group instruction.

Most of my students have goals to work towards a less restrictive environment and gain the skills necessary to access their grade level curriculum in the general education classroom. With intensive supports provided, students are able to gain access and instruction on grade level.

My Project

Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. The materials and items I am requesting for my students will ultimately assist them in accessing their grade level curriculum in the most efficient and unique way possible. Accommodations and modifications go beyond what is done to the curriculum. The goal of this project is to accommodate students and modify their individual learning styles/environments all within the context of the 4 walls of our classroom.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Wobble seats, sit disks, and stress balls will provide the flexibility to manipulate, move, and wiggle out their frustrations while working without disrupting instruction or classmates. Providing flexible seating and options for students to select from on a daily or center based basis will better increase their focus and attention, ultimately increasing their instructional gains and classroom participation.
