Fidget and Focus: Sensory Toys for Student Success

Help me give my students a variety of sensory toys and fidget tools to support their self-regulation and focus, allowing them to stay calm and engaged while working independently at their desks.

My Project

Many of the students in our Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) face challenges with self-regulation and maintaining focus during independent work. To help create a calm and supportive classroom environment, I want to provide a variety of sensory toys and fidget tools that students can use quietly at their desks. These tools help reduce anxiety, improve attention, and support emotional regulation—key skills that help students succeed both academically and behaviorally.

The sensory toys we’re requesting include fidget cubes, textured rings, squishy stress toys, and sorting games that engage the hands and mind silently without causing distractions for others.

Having access to these tools will allow students to better manage their emotions and impulses, making it easier for them to stay focused on their lessons and complete important coursework. This is especially critical in a DAEP setting, where many students are working hard to rebuild their academic progress and personal responsibility.

With your generous support, we can create a classroom environment that helps every student find calm and focus. These sensory tools will empower students to take control of their learning experience, leading to better outcomes in school and beyond.
