Festive Piñatas for Homeless and Underprivileged Children in Our Area
Help me give my students a way to put a smile on homeless and underprivileged kids in the area by making piñatas for them. We will use the different colored tissue paper to make small festive piñatas.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the honor of working with some of the most amazing students. I have students that are always willing to pull through and pull together to work and help out others. Students that I work with come from very low economic and even poverty homes, yet they come every day with a positive attitude and the hunger to learn. My students are truly amazing students. They always tell me how I inspire them to do better for themselves, but I always tell them that they always inspire me to do more because I see their efforts and how hard they work for me.
My students are a wonderful example of what it means to work hard for what you really want in this world.
They push themselves to help not only themselves here at school but also help their parents at home. Many of my students have a part time job even as young as 15 and 16 years of age and some maintain jobs while in school full time. They are not afraid of working in the fields over the winter and spring break or even the hot summer days so that they can help their parents.
My Project
We will use the colored tissue paper to make festive piñatas for homeless and underprivileged children in our area. We will use the HP Printer to print colored eyes and smiles to put on the piñatas and make them even better. We will use the cardboard cutters to cut the cardboard that we will use to build these piñatas as we decorate them with the colorful tissue paper. We will then buy deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpaste and socks along with some snacks to fill them and give them out to homeless and underprivileged children in our area. I always try to instill in my students that even though they may be low income, there are always kids in less fortunate situations and may not have a home to call their own. This will help put a smile on a kids face and help my students feel extra special by doing for others.
