Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are awesome! They are funny, intelligent, and always have a perspective that is their own. You would never know they lack anything!

Our students, however, reside in one of the lower socioeconomic areas of central Arkansas and tend to have financial difficulties when it comes to things such as food and supplies.

That's where DonorsChoose.org comes in. Our students need supplies to start and complete the school year without having to worry about having what they need for school.

My Project

I have high school students and middle school students. One of the things that a lot of the students at my school sometimes have issues with is their personal hygiene. It can be embarrassing for these students sometimes, especially when they can't afford what they need.

All of our students should have access to what they need to keep themselves clean and healthy.

Middle school can be awkward for a lot of kids. Requesting help for feminine hygiene products can be embarrassing for our students when they need them so they can maintain a healthy lifestyle. By having these products on hand it's one less worry for them. It's such a crucial need and it's something they can keep with them in their backpacks to avoid becoming a spectacle at school. I care deeply about the students at my school and I want to make sure that they are taking care of themselves.
