I teach awesome 2nd graders! We build community and treat each other like a class family. Our school is a safe, family-friendly school. We are a Title I school with over 82% receiving free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is diverse and inclusive of many different cultures.
Second graders love to learn!
Some of my students' favorite things to do include reading, writing stories, and playing math games. My students are learning many positive character traits such as perseverance, cooperation, and being forgiving of others when they make mistakes.
We believe in getting better and better every day!
My Project
These items will be used as incentives (treats) for outstanding behavior and for special occasions like their birthday, reaching a goal, or other special occasions. I have picked out items that I know my 2nd graders will enjoy: crayons, markers, stickers, pencils, chalk, notebooks, etc.
Students should feel special because that is what they are...special!
We spend a lot of time together, and I like to show my students that they are important. On their birthdays, they get to pick out 4 items from the treasure box and get a special birthday pencil and sticker. When they reach 50 Dojo points, they get to color and draw with special markers, crayons, and coloring books. The items in this project will help with these two occasions as well as other times that the students deserve a treat.
