My Students
Our classroom is comprised of students from 3 to 5 years of age who vary in ability level. Half of my students are typically developing peer models while some students need extra supports to meet developmental targets.
My student body is a lively, energetic group of learners that are excited to attend school!
They come in each day expecting a challenge mixed with some fun! It is my goal to give students experiences they may not get to experience otherwise, such as painting, cooking and sensory play, while learning academics and social skills.
My Project
Preschool age children are learning how to identify their emotions, as well as identifying how those around them are feeling. Each day we use a curriculum to teach social emotional learning. I supplement this teaching with an age appropriate book to reinforce our learning. The story or book we use needs to be relatable and engaging, but more importantly be accessible to preschool students.
Young children love Ninjas, and the Ninja series will grab their attention!
I might even don a mask to read these books! The Spot of Emotions series is colorful and easy to understand. Both series will be used to reinforce and support district provided curriculum.
