My Project

Lincoln's music program is growing! We added a music teacher and therefore were able to add a new Modern Band program. This class teaches students to make music in a less traditional way with an emphasis on playing modern music. Music should be for everyone and there is not a "best" way to experience and make music.

The Modern band program uses a drum set every day; however, there is still a need for a drum set in the concert band classes.

For this reason, we need an additional drum set. The concert bands play genres like rock and jazz that require a drumset. Also, Playing the drum set is a crucial skill for developing percussionists. Providing a quality drumset allows me to teach a variety of music and meet the needs of my students. Having a set in both classrooms ensures that all students get to access this instrument.
