Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my PE classes, I aim to support students not just physically, but emotionally and socially, as well. Many of my students experience moments of emotional overwhelm, anxiety, or frustration during the day, and I want to offer them a healthy, calming outlet. A weighted stuffed animal can be a comforting tool they can hold when they need a break, helping them regulate their emotions and return to class feeling more grounded. I'm also requesting 3-legged race bands to use in cooperative games and team-building activities.
These simple tools will encourage students to work together, communicate effectively and build positive peer relationships in a fun and engaging way.
By fostering empathy, teamwork and emotional awareness, this project will help create a more inclusive and supportive environment where all students can thrive—both in and out of the game.
