This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income area of Los Angeles County. All of my students come from low-income families. We are a Title I-funded school where one hundred percent of our students receive free meals. My students always try their best at everything and anything despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.

They are expected to have it less easily than others, but we learn that with hard work and consistency, they can be unique or different from the rest.

My students are so eager to learn that it makes coming to work easy!

My Project

My students will receive important life essentials such as deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, and lotion after a life skills lesson. They will be able to bring these products home to use, or even keep some of them in their backpacks for daily use at school after gym class. Our classroom will discuss important life essentials and good hygiene habits, such as brushing your teeth, showering, and using deodorant and lotion on a daily basis. These skills are important to teach and implement into our daily routines as we grow up.
