This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are autistic and have been struggling with the transition back to in-person learning. They need help meeting their sensory needs. I am hoping to transform my classroom environment with much-needed sensory tools to help them feel better at school!
My Project
My students are struggling with returning back to school after distance learning.
My students are having a hard time regulating their emotions, meeting their sensory needs, and engaging in lessons.
I want to make these areas easier for them. I have chosen sensory items and interactive learning tools to get my students more excited and comfortable at school.
Noise cancelling headphones, weighted lap pads, wobble stools, chewy necklaces, and pencil grips will help my students manage their sensory needs and focus on learning. I also chose interactive storytelling tools to get my students interested in reading.
