My Students
The students in my classroom are tech experts! They have grown up with it and most kids have access to devices at school and home. Teaching them how to properly store and care for them is a life skill that they will continue to use. We are considered a 21st Century School, so teaching students to care for tech is a necessity that will benefit kids in and out of school.
Teaching students how to properly care for and store their technology is just as important as using the devices.
My students are so curious about technology and crave getting their hands on it! I love having tech-centered activities in the classroom so kids can let their creativity shine. Being able to foster digital learning is one of my favorite parts of teaching 2nd grade.
My Project
This charge cart will be so helpful for teaching my 2nd graders how to care for their technology and keep our devices tidy. Each laptop will have a specific spot for students to check out and return-- we won't have devices left on the floor anymore!
We lose learning time because our devices aren't charged or stored in an organized way.
I can't tell you how many times a student has gone to use a computer just to find out that it wasn't plugged in and is dead. This takes time away from our learning to go back and let the device charge enough to use. This storage cart has the power cords attached and ready to go so that every device can charge nightly and have enough battery to make it through the day.
