Feeling Artsy in Special Ed

My students need paint stix, finger crayons, crayons that fit in your palm, and ball ornaments to express themselves in creative ways!

My Students

I have a classroom full of students who are eager to learn. We are a program that services 20 students that are each on an IEP for a variety of different reasons. The reason include but are not limited to Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and speech delays. Our students are all three years old because we believe early intervention is key to their academic success. These students love to explore and are finding different methods of how to express themselves.

My Project

Our students all have a wide variety of special needs including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and speech delays. Many of them have difficulty communicating verbally but they love expressing themselves with art supplies. Many items such as regular markers are hard for them to use due to difficulties with their fine motor skills.

These special art supplies are designed to help them express themselves through their work.

The supplies that we have requested are paint stix, crayons that can go on your fingers, crayons that fit in your palm, and ball ornaments for a special holiday craft. It is amazing the variety of options that are available to support our sweet students. Thank you so much for considering supporting our well deserving students and giving them a voice to express themselves!
