This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There's nothing like the pressure of changing hormones, growing up, and the transition to middle school, to help shake your self esteem. Am I right? But what if you could help make a 5th grader's life that much easier, by providing the right things to help them look and feel "FRESH"? That way, they have one less reason to stress and one more reason to just enjoy the moment... Well now, you totally can!

Through this project, I seek to acquire socks, belts, and deodorant for every student in our 5th grade class so that they can stop worrying about their hygiene and start to look and feel GOOD!

The reason for requesting socks, is because we know that in 5th grade, our students are not only going through hormonal changes, but also they are getting tons of physical activity throughout their day (i.e. soccer/basketball during recess and lunch, varied sports during PE time, and additional playing time during their after school program). These are just some of the many reasons our students would benefit from having an additional pair or two of clean socks in their closet. Because no one likes going to school with yesterday's sweaty socks... yuck!

The deodorants in this project should also help our students keep good hygiene throughout their day. Especially now that summer is just around the corner and the days are getting warmer, having this handy little tool will ensure that our clothes (and classroom) stay smelling FRESH

Lastly, we are also asking for stretchy belts so kids can run around freely without having to worry about their pants sagging or falling down. Some students will actually refrain from being active during recess/lunch because they fear their pants might not hold- so a good belt would be a great solution.
