My students are an amazing group of young learners. They strive every day to learn and apply skills within our reading class. They are curious, adventurous, creative, and enthusiastic learners.
We are a high poverty school, where many of our families do not have the ability to access quality literature for their child/children outside of the school setting.
Together as a class, we strive to daily to push ourselves, our minds, and our imaginations to the limits. Through novel studies, my students are able to expand their learning and thinking on a daily basis.
My Project
With such a diverse group of learners, these books will be able to reach all learners at all levels during our guided reading groups. Having multiple options for students to choose books at their level will enable students to be engaged while reading and learning within a small group setting.
Novel studies encourage students to participate and engage in meaningful and interactive reading groups while improving comprehension and fluency skills.
These books will allow students more opportunities to work collaboratively to expand their vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills, and their growing love for reading.
