My Students
How can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed? Despite the many challenges my students face, I strive to provide them with a love for reading in a multifaceted way.
I can not control what happens outside of school but, I can control my students' experience during the school day.
I plan to do this in a creative and positive way. I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
I am building rich literacy environment for my students that will will foster a love for reading!
My Project
I am focusing on guided reading centers. I want to be very intentional about the independent work students are participating in during guided reading time. With your help, I will be able to build a plethora of activities that will assist my students with their reading skills!
My students will be able to practice fluency, reading comprehension, and explore informational text with your support.
Reading is emphasized greatly at our school so, I want to provide my student with interactive and beneficial activities to build on their reading skills.
The items were a read along book and audio splitter to make the listening center more effective. I also chose a phonics center game so, my low students have an opportunity to practice their phonic skills, which will help them become better readers. Our Reading Comprehension books will allow a group of students to concentrate on their independent reading time and have the take their completing be very intentional to support their reading skills.
