My Students

My students are an extremely diverse population. For me personally, it's extremely interesting to learn more about the Native American population, which makes up approximately 50% of my student population. Being in a small town, shop class is very relatable for them. This blue-collar town we all live in is very hands-on, and the skills they learn here they will keep with them and use all their lives. Given the high poverty level, sometimes this is all they have. Many times the students are more creative than our supplies allow, there have been numerous times I have had to say "no, we can't make that because we don't have the supplies", well Donors Choose.org is my way of getting to say "Yes! Of Course we can make that!" even more.

My Project

The speakers of this project will be used in the 5 working environment of the Tech Ed Department to allow students to listen to music during working time. The goal of this project is to eliminate the students desire to sneak to put their own ear buds and music in, because now they can share their playlist with the class! Who wouldn't love to be DJ for a day while working? These will also be good for instructional videos since these speakers do have a higher quality of sound than any corded speaker we have right now.
