My Project

I love so much about this group of students this year! They are so fun to be around! They work so hard and are willing to do whatever I ask of them. They love each other well and work hard to include others in whatever they do.

Many kids come to school daily with empty stomachs, which causes them to struggle to learn and function.

They are struggling to meet that basic need of food and nutrition, which then causes their brain to get stuck in the brain stem. If they are constantly needing food, then they will never be able to reach the frontal lobe which is where all the learning and decision making takes place.

I would love to be able to provide a little bit of extra brain power for this group. Some are able to bring their own snack, but most do not, sometimes because they can't and other times they don't remember. Having a snack for them would eliminate the worry.
