This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve as the Dean of students for grade 6, 7, and 8. We are a Title 1 school and the students we serve come from low-income families. It is my priority to serve our students' mental, emotional, and physical needs. Our students require basic school needs in order to be prepared for what the school year has to offer. This is not easy for all of our families.

Our students deserve to be prepared to face a world that is ever changing.

We want to ensure our students do not have to worry about not having, ensure our students are not experiencing food insecurity, and ensure they're given what is necessary for proper hygiene. We treat our students like they are our own children because we really are a family school.

My Project

Ever been hungry while you're trying to do your job? It is distracting and uncomfortable. No student should ever have to experience this. With this project, it will provide students with a way to seek food whenever they need. We want to ensure our students can fully focus on school.

Hungry students cannot learn.

To help bridge that gap, students can come to my office to request snacks when they are hungry. With your generosity, I can help students who have to experience food insecurity and get them focused on their academics.
