Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We would love to add new series, next in series, early readers and early chapter books to our library. Our students love to read and are constantly looking forward to new books! They love making book suggestions and as soon as they know when the next book in a series is being released, they ask me if I have been able to go pick it up yet. We feel as though we are feeding books to hungry readers!

Our students need a welcoming and comfortable environment with books to keep them engaged and continue to feed their hunger for reading.

We also would love to continue to make our library a comfortable and welcoming space for our students. Our goal is to foster a love for reading and a great place to do that is in the library. We are incredibly fortunate to have a large library which gives us the opportunity to make several spaces for our kids to get comfortable and read! We would like to add to our cozy library seating, our goal is to have a fun place for every student to sit and relax while reading. We would like to add fun shelving, a couple new carpets, and bean bags to our collection. The students love laying down with a good book on a cozy chair while quiet music is played and reading! We want to continue to provide this safe and comfortable environment for them and also give them new books!
