My Students

At my school we believe in educating the whole student. We believe Character and Academics are integral to a child’s development. When I think of where I want my students to be at the end of the year I hold their Academic achievements and their Character achievements to the same bar.

At KIPP Leadership Primary 90 percent of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch and come from low income families.

Our children are inquisitive and hardworking, they are hungry for knowledge and experiences. They understand that getting to and through college is hard work worth doing.

My Project

Our school endeavors to set every child up for academic and personal success, and one major barrier to our students' success is their lack of access to fresh foods and healthy eating habits. Many of our students' families live in food deserts with limited or no access to affordable, healthy options.

The earlier students learn about healthy eating, the more likely they are to continue using these skills as they grow up.

This year my school is teaching students how to grow and cook their own fruits and vegetables in a new school garden! Soil is a major cost when starting a school garden, please help make our school garden a success my donating to our project.
