Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Using colorful and meaningful stamps as a motivational tool in the classroom is a fantastic idea! In order to enhance student engagement and motivation, the incorporation of colorful and meaningful stamps is a form of positive reinforcement for completing activities.

Both the teacher and the students can use this tool.

When the students check their peers’ tasks, they become able to identify mistakes, which even they themselves make. This helps them understand the importance of checking what has been done right and to correct what can have little errors on it. For this, as we said for the teachers, using the colorful stamps makes it a more fun activity for them and they really appreciate how essential it is to read motivational sentences when receiving feedback.

Having these stamps, the teacher will be able to explain the purpose of them as positive reinforcement when completing tasks, showing improvement or achieving specific goals. Therefore, the teacher will need to clearly outline the criteria for each stamp, especially when they use it between each other. Even though, a stamp saying ‘It needs improvement’ can be given, that does not mean that the children should feel bad or sad about it, it just means that they need to work a little bit harder. But, this is easier to deal with by the students if they get it in a nice stamp, than if they just see it written on their work.

Most stamps are intended to be used as a celebration of students’ accomplishments by acknowledging their progress and efforts. And, this will encourage students to support and motivate each other looking at everyone's’ successes, which fosters a positive classroom environment and promote teamwork.
