Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our school, we try to make everything fun and involve our students. All events that we plan and carry through involve a lesson. Four times a year we have a big pancake breakfast for our students. We make it a cross-curricular lesson. The way it looks in my math class is by applying proportions and percentages to the recipes.
Our students enjoy this activity very much.
In order to carry this through we need a griddle to cook in. Another of our future projects is to start an after-school club where our students can learn how to properly use tools to fix things around their homes. This will allow them to implement concepts that have been learned in their math class.
