Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Provide my students with food to fuel them throughout the school day and increase learning engagement.

One thing most middle school students are clear about: they love and NEED snacks!

It is true that when their bellies are satisfied, my tween learners can better focus to set themselves up for success in our Communications lessons.

These snacks will increase academic engagement, learning stamina and class comradery. Sharing foods we love brings us together and builds our learning community. Also, when I can reliably provide something for students who have missed their morning breakfast, this increases my students' comfort and builds their trust in me.
