Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are vibrant. My students are energetic. My students are diverse. They are passionate, enduring, and have the future at their fingertips. My students contribute to their school and community, but they are also at a disadvantage.
Most of my students come from broken and/or poverty-stricken homes.
The school hosts an over 90% population that is on free or reduced-price lunch making us a Title I school. Despite the economic state of many of our students, they show us on a daily, how motivated they are. They want to provide a better life for themselves, and they are working hard to try to get there; they want to develop life skills that will allow them to move forward in life.
My Project
Often times we go about our day not realizing what those around us may need. This is true with many of my students. They keep problems such as hunger and lack of hygiene products to themselves, and are unable to truly concentrate on their learning.
Help me get my students a little peace.
At times all my students need is a little snack in order to give their full attention. That is why I am asking for True Clear Purified Bottled Waters, Hershey's Chocolates, Mars Chocolate Full-Size Candy Bars Variety Pack, Chocolate Candy Bar Variety Pack, Hershey's & Reese's & Kit-Kats, Albanese 12 Flavor Gummi Bears, Bestpresso Coffee for Nespresso Original Machine 120 pods and Maruchan Instant Lunches. With these items, students would be able to silence their hunger and turn their attention to learning. With the Degree Shower Clean Dry Protection Antiperspirant Deodorant Sticks, students that do not have access to deodorant will be able to just grab one and not worry about their hygiene. With having a brief moment of relief from hunger and hygiene, I am hoping my students will be able to better learn for the long term.
