My Project
Helping to feed my students will address the hunger and malnutrition they face during the academic school year. My main goal is to be able to provide nutritional snacks throughout the day to help them not only subside their hunger but to also support brain development, healthy growth and immunity. My class of 12 students are with me all day due to behavioral issues and often fall through the cracks in school, at home and especially in society, where they often find themselves on the other end of the law.
Behavioral, emotional, and mental health along with academic problems are more prevalent among my students struggling with hunger.
Providing them with healthy snacks will play a vital role in preparing them to learn and make sure they provided with the energy, attention and focus they need to be successful throughout the day.
