Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I feel like I am so lucky to teach where I do, because my students come from all over the city. Not only are we a community school, it also has a magnet program (for humanities and law) which is what brings in students from all over the city.
Although my students come from all over, the one thing they all have in common is my classroom.
I work really hard to build meaningful relationships with my students and to make my room a place where they want to be.
My Project
I am so excited that I get a 50% match for this project! I am known as the teacher with snacks. My classroom pantry is more stocked than my home one.
8th graders are still growing and are always hungry; A hungry kid is not fully focused on learning.
That's an easy fix.
Chips and cookies are not allowed in in my room. Healthy choices only. Granola bars and fruit snacks are super popular with my kiddos.
I am also very proud of my students for always cleaning up after themselves. Crumbs and trash are not a problem in my room.
