Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Spanish I students explore the unit of "Guatemala" where they discuss their personal experiences with shopping and specifics regarding where they purchase their clothing. However, we discuss how individuals who live in Chicago and Guatemala share parallels with outdoor markets and places where they can buy second-hand clothing. In addition, many students discuss "fast fashion" and its impact on the environment.

I want to provide my students with an opportunity to design outfits and clothing from recycled materials such as their clothing from their own houses that they do not wear anymore or would donate.
