I have taught at the same school for the last twenty-one years. After many years of teaching first grade and kindergarten, I embarked on a new adventure teaching second grade this year.
One of the toughest skills that my students have to master in second grade is two digit addition and subtraction.
In order to be successful with double digit addition and subtraction, students must have a good handle on their addition and subtraction math facts. Many of my students are struggling with math fact fluency and it is slowing them down in mastering double-digit addition and subtraction.
This project includes addition and subtraction flash cards that can go home with every student. Students and their families can practice math fact fluency, which will lead to greater automaticity with math facts and more ease with double digit addition and subtraction.
