My students are absolutely amazing at what they do. My classroom is adorned with their gorgeous artwork made using design priciples. They are with me two hours each day and work very hard in class to complete their assignments. Their work is top notch and I am constantly wowed by the products they turn in. As a fashion teacher, I teach students who truly want to learn how to use these skills to better their futures.
My students may not come from the best of backgrounds, but they deserve the chance to use skills in the classroom to build their futures.
These materials will give my students supplies in class to be creative designers in the fast-growing fashion industry. The Cricut will allow my students to design decals for fashion items such as t-shirts and bags that students can actually create in class. The thread will be used to sew garments and embroider designs, all created by students. Zippers will be used for projects such as tops and skirts. Scissors in the fashion room are often used for cutting paper even though they are not supposed to be - so having a few extra pairs always helps to make sure fabric is cut easily and straight.
My students deserve the chance to learn cutting-edge fashion techniques in a hands-on way through applying what they have learned in creating their own garments.
