My students need interactive centers and games for math as well as places to store them! They will be able to use the write on pockets over and over with many different station activities!
My school is a high poverty, Title I school in an urban area. My students face several challenges in their daily lives. Many of them do not know where their next meal is coming from, let alone know where they will be sleeping that night. I have students who are homeless, students who live in motels, and students who must worry about whether or not their family will be evicted from their apartment at the end of the month. Each day, all students are served a free breakfast and free lunch, and I often provide them with a snack. Despite all of the obstacles my students face, they are engaged in math and strive to become lifelong mathematicians.
My Project
For many students, math is a struggle! Students are not always able to conceptualize math concepts and this is where a lot of students struggle. Students are able to learn better when they have engaging and fun hands-on math stations to reinforce skills they have been taught!
We are requesting hands-on math games as well as reusable pockets that are a must for making math learning fun!
For that reason, I am asking for addition and subtraction machines, a complete math skills set that will cover many standards, reusable write and wipe pockets, neon storage bins, trays, and supply caddies.
All of these items will cover many of our state standards in a fun and engaging way! These items will also reinforce the skills my students have previously learned and transfer over into their daily math learning. When a student enjoys what they are learning and can make a connection with a skill in a fun and engaging way, they are more likely to remember that skill!
Thank you in advance for considering to make a donation to our class. My students and I will be more grateful than you could ever imagine to have this fun, new, and engaging material for our math stations!
