Farm to School Table

My Project

My students live in an urban setting. We are an inner city school. Many of them have never planted or worked a garden. I love the transformation from a tiny seed into something else.

We currently have three Aerogardens up and running in my classroom garden.

I put my students in charge of everything. They do the planting, monitoring the water levels, adding plant food and monitoring for growth. We currently have lettuce and basil growing. We will eat the lettuce and add the pizzas! They really enjoy eating food they have grown.

Many of our supplies are running low. We need more plant food, grow sponges and seeds. We are also hoping to grow flowers, strawberries, different varieties of lettuce and cucumbers. Please help me instill a love of gardening in my students.
