My Project

I am requesting items needed to teach where food comes from. I want to provide students with a hands-on learning experience in growing food. The items needed include soil, seeds, planters, a shelving unit, books, and tools.

My goal is for students to learn that food is grown and sourced by farmers and it takes hard work to be successful at growing plants of all kinds.

Students will gain a firsthand experience by growing plants within our classroom as they learn about the plant life cycles and it's components.

My students would love the opportunity to grow plants and learn about the life cycle as they are thirsty for this knowledge and have enjoyed the few plants we've propagated and started together. This project would allow each of my third graders a chance to learn responsibility in caring for their own plants and how to be accountable for their learning.

Mrs. Loyd will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 1.
