This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through our last project "From Farm to Classroom" we will have a larger scale hydroponic system for the children to learn from. We are, however, a very large school, servicing well over 1200 children in a 4 story building.

The funding of this project will allow for each grade level to have a smaller version of the hydroponic garden for them to be able to explore more intimately.

Each grade level will plant a different vegetable and we will all be able to share with one another. Being in an urban area, there are many varieties of fruits and vegetables that these children have not experienced. Having 9 small gardens producing various foods throughout the year will allow the children so much more exposure than they would have otherwise.
