This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, ambitious, and eager to tell their stories through video and audio production. In our high school Television and Audio Production class, they work like real-world producers—filming, recording, and editing their own projects. They have big ideas, but we often run into a small but frustrating problem: we don’t have enough mini SD cards to store their work.

My Project

We are requesting mini SD cards so every student can have the storage they need for filming and recording. These cards will be used in our video cameras and audio recorders to capture interviews, school news broadcasts, short films, and podcasts.

Right now, students have to share a small number of cards, which slows projects down and sometimes even results in lost footage. Having dedicated SD cards will make it possible for each student or group to work independently, keep their projects safe, and complete their work on time.

The Impact

With enough SD cards, my students will:

Capture video and audio without worrying about running out of space

Work on multiple projects at the same time without waiting for equipment

Keep their creative momentum going instead of pausing for technical delays

Build professional portfolios to share with colleges, internships, and scholarship committees
