As I compose this letter, I can hear two students (who usually need redirection in the library) stating coordinates for battleship, quietly and without disrupting other students. In the far corner, two international teens are making jewelry together, despite not sharing a common language. It's really special to see the new ways that students can and are interacting together through games and crafts. \r\nIt means a lot to my students to be supported by the community in this way. When I tell them the games were donated they are suprprised and they want to know who donated them. When I tell them that it was complete strangers who just want what's best for them, they are touched. \r\nThank you again for your generous support. The markers have such a long life, the folders are great quality, and the pencils have been a lifesaver!\r\n\r\nSeveral of my students were rather disorganized before, but have been much more on top of their notes and assignments ever since receiving a folder to store all of their materials in. The students were excited to receive the folders, and all had strong opinions on what color they wanted their folder to be. It even sparked debates of what \"color\" math is as student recounted their folder/spiral colors for each subject from elementary school.\r\n\r\nThe markers have also been a great help in class as students are much more flexibly able to work on math problems by using their desks as whiteboards. Students also have their own personal whiteboards in each desk that they have been using to participate during lessons.
