My Students
As a teacher teaching during a pandemic, the school year is different and students are faced with different challenges in and out of the classroom. However, when my students come to school, I want my students feel safe and comfortable. Creating a safe space will allow my students to grow as learners.
My school is located in Harlem and the students are dedicated and love coming to school.
My school is located in a low-income neighborhood. However, the students LOVE coming to school to learn. My school is a Title I school, where most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches. This year is unknown and we as teaches are working extra hard to support and keep our students safe at this time. I
I currently teach in a 12:1:1 self-contained classroom with students who have various academic and social needs. My students are full of spirit and love learning throughout the day. They are all loving and enjoy coming to school every day.
My students are very active and learn in various ways. I want to provide my students with tools to help them grow as learners and explore through thinking and learning in various ways.
My Project

By providing these learning tools, students will be able to build on their thinking through conversations and grow as learners.
My example, the LEGO sets will provide students with opportunities to build as explores and learn in different ways. The organization bins will provide a clear and clean classroom. The art supplies will allow students to explore art and learn in different ways. The Lakeshore play food will allow my students to engage in dramatic play and work on their math skills to help them grow as learners.
The basket will be a part of our calming center. Having a safe space for students to calm down and express how they are feeling is very important.
Students are provided with multiple opportunities throughout the day to engage in conversations and engage in learning. I want to help create a fun learning environment where students will flourish and grow as learners.
