As an educator entering my 1st year of service, I consider it one of my life's greatest blessings to be able to work alongside the best student scholars and educators in the country! JES is committed to providing its students with all of the resources that are needed to engage students in rigorous, dynamic and inspirational instructional activities. There may be times when we do not have what we need, but we have taken on the "We can't yet..." not a "We can't..." attitude. Maybe we currently cannot provide our students with all of the most innovative technology available, maybe we currently do not have a 1,000+ book classroom library of high-interest books in every classroom, but soon we will! All of the resources we want to provide to our students are available to us through the magic of DonorsChoose.org thanks to donors like YOU!
My Project
For Fantastic Flexible Seating, I want to give my students seating options that will help make learning fun. For example, I want a carpet in my classroom for whole group instruction. During this whole group instruction, I want my students to feel as if our classroom is a community. I want the students to feel that the carpet is their safe place.
In my project, I have included comfortable and out of the ordinary seating options for my students.
I want my students to have an option where they sit and I want them to choose seats that are comfortable for them. With the comfy chairs and exercise balls to sit on, I feel like my classroom will become more warm and welcoming to students. Students learn better when they feel at home and welcomed, so my goal in my classroom, is to make all my students feel comfortable.
