Ms. Swanson from Waterloo WI is requesting Reading Nooks, Desks & Storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Fantastic Flexible Seating in First Grade

My students need cushions, a low table, and a storage shelf for flexible seating. My students need options for comfortable seating so they can work in an environment that will best meet their needs.

My Students

My students this year are enthusiastic, funny, creative, and voracious readers. They love telling me jokes and being able to read books around our room. These children absolutely love reading and writing nonfiction texts. The number of books they have read this year is amazing.

My students are incredibly helpful and supportive of each other.

They are quick to help each other out and offer to share materials. Compassion and kindness is an area they excel in. If someone in the room is hurt, there are several friends who step up and offer their help.

My Project

My students are voracious readers and writers, and we need some flexible seating to better meet the variety of learners in our classroom. I'd like to be able to provide my students with a variety of spaces to work at.

Our classroom consists of traditional desks, so we would like to have some options for seating in more comfortable spaces.

They will be able to sit on the ground or on their knees at the coffee table. With the bolster cushions they will be able to work or read in a space that isn't the tile floor. Providing my students with various spaces to work is my goal. They truly deserve to have comfortable spaces to work and read. The cube organization system will provide us with space to store books and writing materials.
