My Students

I teach an amazing group of 25 first graders in rural Kentucky. My students enter the classroom each morning excited to see what new activities we have planned. The students love to try new activities and are always willing to give their best.

One hundred percent of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and many of them only have access to technology at school. Despite these hardships, my students are eager to use technology, explore and be successful.

My Project

Every day in first grade my class is working on mastering multiple skills. All kids learn and grow on a different level so one way to reach our goals is by doing literacy centers and math groups. These rotations allow students to work on a more individual level by allowing students to work with classmates that are working on the same level.

Students who receive lessons on a more individual level are more likely to be successful.

In order to continue daily reading and math centers we need some updated materials. I am requesting dry erase markers and erasers and some new fun games that will keep the students having fun and learning at the same time.
