My students need a Kindle Fire to provide them with another way to read books.
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you didn't want to put down? My students are just getting to that stage, and I am looking for new ways to encourage their enthusiasm for learning.
My students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
They consist of over age third graders who have not been successful in years past. These students want to learn, but have given up and need new, invigorating ways to learn. My students enter the classroom with limited background knowledge and experiences, but given the proper setting they are eager and willing to learn.
Do you love to read? I have finally instilled the love of reading with my students, however a Kindle Fire would give the students more books to choose from using a large e book library. Some students need the visuals that can come with an e book and that is possible on the Kindle Fire. As a teacher, I can also use the Kindle Fire during lessons to monitor and keep up with behavior tracking, and in small groups for small group reading lessons.
My students will be so excited to see a new way they can learn in their classroom.
Not only will you impact them right now by donating to my project, but this could turn them into life long learners and readers.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
