My Project

My students love learning about the world around them, especially in our home state of Illinois! To tie together our Social Studies unit on Impactful Illinoisans and a writing unit on biographies, we will write biographies on important historical figures who were born or lived in our state. This grant would provide high interest resources about Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey and Ronald Reagan.

These resources will help us to learn about how these different people have impacted our state.

With so many choices, students will have the opportunity to choose and Impactful Illinoisan that they feel connected to, and will hopefully inspire them to someday contribute to our state in a big way, as well!
