Ms. Williams Thomas from Washington DC is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a movie projection system and theater wall screen so we can have ways to provide incentives in the form of movie days especially during inclement weather.

My students are very unique in that many of them have not traveled beyond the immediate DMV. They can be very outgoing and they need exposure to things outside of their familiar surroundings. A lot of them come from homes with multiple siblings and limited resources. School is their safe space. They need and desire positive attention which encourage their best behavior.
Our school system used to set aside funds for middle school students.
Every year we plan incentives grades 6-8. We had each grade visit a theme park. 6th grade usually went to Kings Dominion, 7th grade visited Hershey Park and our 8th grade students had an overnight trip. The year before the pandemic our funding was cut so any trips we would go on would have to be paid for by our students and their families. If there were multiple students from one family, our teachers would sponsor them. Upon returning from the pandemic there has been no direct communication as to where we will be able to travel based on the COVID but we need optional incentive options in house.
We could use the movie system as a way to reward students for following school rules and procedures and academic achievement. Students who reached the goal for Class DOJO could be rewarded as well as students who exceed benchmark goals in reading and math. We could also use the system to view classroom texts that have movies to accompany the required readings to help our visual learners get more clarity on the text they are reading in class.
We could also sponsor family themed movie nights to promote our family engagement initiatives.
One night a month we could host a family even with popcorn and refreshments.
