My Project

K-2 Family Math Night is a fun and interactive event that brings families together to explore the world of mathematics. The evening provides an opportunity for parents and children to engage in hands-on math games that promote learning and foster family bonding. Through these games, families not only enjoy quality time together but also develop important mathematical vocabulary that enhances their understanding of basic concepts.

A key feature of the night is the estimation contests, where participants use their skills to guess quantities or measurements, reinforcing the importance of estimation as a foundational skill for young mathematicians.

Estimation helps children develop number sense, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to approach math challenges in everyday life. To add an element of excitement, prizes are awarded to the winners of the estimation contest, making the experience both educational and rewarding.

This event is particularly special because it highlights the strong sense of community within our school, which is part of the K-12 option program. Families from all grade levels are connected through shared learning experiences, strengthening the bonds that make our school a unique and supportive place for students and their families. K-2 Family Math Night is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, learn, and grow as a community of young mathematicians.
