Fame Jr. Production Needs Donor Angels

My Project

The materials and supplies I am requesting are to enhance our students abilities to perform in a theatrical production.

We are planning a theater production of Fame Jr.

in the Spring with our students.

Our school, is a special needs high school with a primarily Autistic population. However, we have no audio equipment available for this production in the school. The students need to feel proud of themselves and to help them succeed they need microphones for the Fame Jr production.

Our students have communication challenges and it is difficult to create a musical without audio equipment.

The students are very excited about being in a musical (singin,; dancing, and acting) and we want them to be successful.

The microphones and audio system will allow the students voices to carry throughout the auditorium.

Our goal is to create an environment where the students feel included and see beyond their disabilities. With amplification of their voices they will gain confidence and know they are being heard.

This production is in many ways an opportunity for the students to explore a new communication pathway. It is a school-wide event where different ages, disabilities and handicaps can all raise one voice in song.
