My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you fell in love with a book? I want my students to experience the excitement and thrill that comes with the feeling of loving and enjoying to read.
I have an amazing diverse group of students. About half of the class is 2nd generation immigrants. They all come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and lack the background experiences as some of their counter parts. Literature is my way of exposing my students to a world outside of their neighborhood.
My Project
I've chosen a variety of children series books in an attempt to grab the attention of my students. The series I've chosen are Flat Stanley, Horrible Harry and Amelia Bedelia. My students are very interested in all three of the series. Unfortunately, I'm a first year teacher and my classroom library is limited.
Most of my students don't have access to books at home. Please help me in my journey to help my students fall in love with reading. Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your donation!!!
